About The College
Nahata Jogendranath Mondal Smriti Mahavidyalaya is a co-educational institution. The history of this institution is a history of progress. This college is mainly built for the purpose of education and development of the poor and falling behind students. In 1983, an all-out effort was undertaken in the area by the Government of West Bengal to expand higher education in rural Bengal and realize the aspirations of the people. Nahata Jogendranath Mondal Smriti Mahavidyalaya was affiliated to Calcutta University and this was established on 1st July 1985 with the efforts of the then Education Minister Mr. Kanti Biswas and the late Mr. Shantimoy Ghosh and with the sincerity and cooperation of people from all sections of the society.

Community Outreach |
Nahata Jogendranath Mondal Smriti Mahavidyalaya is committed to the holistic development of the students, creating awareness about their social responsibilities along with good academic performance. Two wings of the Institution viz., NSS and NCC, in collaboration with Local Bodies and Local NGOs are dedicated to the task of community sensitization through extension activities. The Institution through NSS and NCC Cells has undertaken the following extension activities: Both NSS Volunteers and NCC Cadets coordinate different community services in the adjacent area and take up cleaning campaigns, campaigns for awareness of malaria and dengue, and health checks-up in the neighborhood. In the Academic Year 2018-2019 to 2022-2023 Blood Donation Camps and Thalassemia Awareness and Detection Camps were organized in collaboration with various Local Bodies. |

The Institution encourages various cultural programmes to create a linguistically and socially inclusive environment and sensitize students and local communities about their cultural heritage. The college celebrates different cultural programs like Rabindra Jayanti, Najirul Jayanti, Death Anniversary of Rabindra nath Tagore, International Language Day, Raksha Bandhan, Basant Utsav etc to create awareness among the students so that they can gather knowledge about our rich cultural heritage. Scholarship |
Students from different Socio-economic as well as academic backgrounds (Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Minority Communities) are entitled to various State Government and Central Government scholarship schemes. It may be mentioned that students can apply for only one scholarship scheme and cannot apply for multiple scholarship schemes at a time. |
