About NCC
The National Cadet Corps is the mainly Indian Military cadet corps, headquartered in New Delhi, Delhi, India. It was formed on 29
th September 1946 by Pandit Hridaynath Kunzru. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis. The National Cadet Corps is a tri-service organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force.
NCC troop was introduced at our college in 1989(Coy No.3/6, SD) under the guidance of Lt. Malay Dasgupta. At present it is under the supervision of Lt Biswajit Mandal, ANO and it is successfully training many students under the guidance of Prof Biswajit Mandal. It is affiliated by 6 Ben. Bn NCC, Bongaon, Kalyani Group, Directorate Sikkim & WB. NCC is voluntary and students both boys and girls can join at the age of 13 years in Junior Division (JD)/Junior Wing (JW) (Class 8 to 10) and in Senior Division (SD)/Senior Wing (SW) from Class XI onwards.
